The National é uma banda de indie rock formada em 1999 por amigos de Cincinnati, Ohio.
As influências vão de Bruce Springsteen a Tindersticks. E as músicas são escritas e cantadas por Matt Berninger com sua diferente voz de barítono
O resto da banda é fomado por dois pares de irmãos: Aaron e Bryce Dessner e Scott e Bryan Devendorf. Padma Newsome, da banda Clogs, frequentemente colabora no teclado e nos arranjos da banda.

The National is an indie rock band formed in 1999 by friends from Cincinnati, Ohio. The influences goes from Bruce Springsteen to Tindersticks. The musics are written and singed by Matt Berninger with your different bariton voice. The rest of the band is formed by two couple of brothers: Aaron and Bryce Dessner and Scott and Bryan Devendorf. Padma Newsome, from the band Clogs, frequently helps in the Keyboard and musical arranges.
